Black Ops - Killstreaks

Hey guys, it has been a while - Sorry for the lack of posts lately, I've been really busy and haven't really been involved with my PS3 for a while, but I'm back in love with it now!

It's time for you to read my ramblings again...

Black Ops - The Killstreaks. Oh dear, oh dear.

www.codblackops.com has released a list of confirmed Black Ops killstreaks, along with a screenshot to go with it. I have to say, I'm traumatized by what I see.

Here's the list:

* 3 Kills – Spy Plane: Shows enemies on the mini-map. Can be shot down

I'm OK with this, seems to be just a timely-version of the UAV seen in the Modern Warfare games.

* 3 Kills – RC-XD Explosive RC Car: Remote controlled car strapped with explosives

This has to be the worst of the bunch. A tiny, player-controllable RC car rigged with explosives is bad enough, but the fact that it is available after a 3 kill streak is considerably worse. This will be aweful, I can see it now, everyone will have RC cars. I really hope there is a way we can counter-act them. Fuck you for adding this, Treyarch.

* 4 Kills – Counter Spy Plane: Temporarily disables enemies mini-map

This is nice, nice counter-act to the spyplane.

* 4 Kills – SAM Turret: Airdrop a placeable SAM turret that destroys aircraft

I'm not keen on this, but if there are going to be player-controllable attack helicopters then this should balance things out a little.

* 5 Kills – Care Package: Airdrop a random killstreak or ammo crate

Care Packages are back, yay...

* 5 Kills – Napalm Strike: Airstrike that covers an area in napalm

Interesting... I can deal with this.

* 6 Kills – Sentry Gun: Airdrop a placeable Sentry Gun

Sentry guns are back? Placeable SAM turrets are enough, Treyarch...

* 6 Kills – Mortar Team: Target 2 locations to bombard with Mortar Strikes

I could probably live with this.

* 7 Kills – Attack Helicopter: Call in a support helicopter

This is fine.

* 7 Kills – Valkyrie Rockets: Launcher with remote controlled rockets

Wait, what? No, just no.

* 8 Kills – Blackbird: Shows enemy position and direction on the mini-map. Cannot be shot down

Thank fuck the thing can't shoot.

* 8 Kills – Rolling Thunder: Carpet bombing airstrike

I don't see how this should be an 8 kill streak reward and RC car bombs only a 3 kill streak reward. I could probably live with this.

* 9 Kills – Chopper Gunner: Be the gunner of an attack helicopter

I'd have this at 11 kills, and place the pilot variant at, say, 20?

* 11 Kills – Attack Dogs: Attack dogs that hunt the enemy down

I was skeptical at first as I hadn't seen attack dogs in use before, but having played World at War the other day (for the first time) and using them myself, I can definately live with them.

* 11 Kills – Gunship: Pilot an attack helicopter

This should have been made available at 15-18 kills.
